For more than a century, the Urban League has been true to its mission of helping African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. Locally, that mission has been guided by Esther Bush, who served the chapter for twenty-seven years.

The documentary profiles the life and career of the former President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. The WQED production follows Ms. Bush’s journey to become leader of one of the region’s leading civil rights organizations, includes cameos by many of her contemporaries, and celebrates the transformative work of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. Produced by Minette Seate and edited by Amy Grove.
