Dude would create wonders as a planeswalker. As smart and as powerful as he is and yet while not perfect, he’s pretty far from your typical mtg tyrant or general d-bag like Ugin can be. He’s not incredibly controlling and short sided like Azor was either as he enlightens and protects his people and world then let’s them go back to biz as usual. What a G

Um he ran from Bolas after losing that mental fight. Bolas just went hmm your stronger than most and bitch slapped him.

Yeah but like... he isn't a master at all though. He gets sleepy halfway through the first fight with a god eternal (basically a glorified giant since we never see the god eternals do anything magical) and needs everyone else to do an equal or greater amount of work to help him win his only fight. It's his only fight because he then gets immediately sleepy again and steps out of the war all together. To my memory, he doesn't even do anything except physically attack with his claws either.
Even alive he wasn't as great as you mention, he himself states that he is just a long-lived dragon, he isn't any more powerful for having lived so long compared to his kin on ravnica. That's why he devoted himself to research, he wants to make up for the difference. He spent the whole encounter with Bolas running away (which was the right answer but still doesn't paint him in a good light).

Lol not strong at all, he got killed then revived as the guildpact and he immediately got creased by eternal kefnet. Niv was effectively out of the fight after that he wasnt heard from again in the story. Everyone is on his scales like hes a big player in mtg hes just a washed up guild leader who got killed, brought back because they needed some one to be the guildpact since jace was of doing gatewatch things.
