Home insurance cancels because of poor condition roof

People in the insurance industry are the worst human beings, if you can call them that.

Talk to a lawer, something sounds wrong, if you had insurance they should repair the roof

I Would call the insurance company and make sure that is right, how can they see issues without going on top of the house?

I'm shocked they consider your roof to be in poor condition. I'm *very* local to you and I've seen significantly worse roofs around here, if the wind hasn't wrecked your roof then it shouldn't be a problem. Can't believe how scummy these insurance companies can be.

10-15k depending on any damaged to the structure of the home .. termites, rot wood or pest damage.

WOW, I can't believe they want to cancel your insurance, my ex CO worker got a toof and repairs done for around $15000.00

$5K to $7K I'd say, I just did my roof 2200 sq feet, set me back $11K

Ridiculous! I would shop different insurance companies to see if you can get a better deal. Something doesn’t sound right.

They did the same thing to me here in Vegas. It ended up being a few shingles and 300 dollars. Ask what they mean about "the condition".

I would get different quotes from roofers and insurance companies. Also, try to find a trustworthy real estate agent who owns rental properties because they will give you a price range for roof replacement which you can reffer to when receiving these roof replacement quotes, and ask him or her if they can recommend a trustworthy roofer. Lastly, my roof is shy of the size of your roof I just had it replaced and it set me back $13k, but I live in Florida your area might be lower or higher. Gilbie just remember there are a lot of scammers out there so do your homework.

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area it goes from 20-30k if no issues. SoCal, I’m guess similar little less . Yep, this is California.

Ive been going through the same thing. Got bids from 7 different roofer companies the cheapest i got so far is 19, 000$. Its getting tough with inflation. Im in the San Diego area. 1800 square foot home.🙁

Is it because its not tile roofing, and its not up to code? Maybe the houses in your area now requires tile roofing

What I would do is figure out the square footage of the roof. Find the cheapest shingles for starters and how much they charge per bundle from places like Home Depot or lowes then add an extra $2k for other materials such as nails, and roof lining I think it’s called it’s placed under the singles. If it’s leaking then you have to factor in Plywood as well

Happened to me when I bought my house. I had to redo the roof within 60 days or they'd drop me.
