Tried your recipe and amazed about the amount of liquid I drained off after leaving a day. Turned out nice and thick. Followed my Libby's pie recipe but doubled the spices and used half the carnations evaporated milk Tasted exactly as I remembered from 30 years ago in Canada. In the oven can hardly wait to enjoy a slice or two!!

Thank you so dam much, cuz I live in the UK and my local supermarket doesn't have pumpkin puree, the last time I had pumpkin pie was last year's (2022) for thanks giving when my grandma made it at home, so finally I can make it at home without the canned pumpkin puree.

Alternatively you can use pureed sweet potato instead. They lend the same flavour and are easier to work with. As an American here in Australia I've done both

Hi Nick, this is a great video that is perfect at explaining the whole process like the straining! Being in Australia myself, would you say there is much of a flavor difference between Jap/Kent pumpkin and butternut squash which is most often recommended for making your own puree, do not get to see our pumpkins mentioned often for desserts (besides pumpkin scones) :)

Would also love to see sweet potato versions of things as well like Sweet Potato Pie for example!
