New York needs platform doors like that to prevent someone falling or being pushed on the tracks. How smart!

Also notice how the metro doors line up with the clear plastic doors perfectly.

Even Milan (Italy🇮🇹) has the same exact metro system...everything from trains, to platforms are exactly as this one in Copenhagen. I tried it several times, and it's amazing!

It reminds me of the trams in big US airports! The closed doors, the driverless cars and the organization of it all

There will be someone there to check your tickets on a regular basis. Not on every ride though. So you can risk it, but if you are caught without a ticket you will be fined 750DKR. Most people also figure it's cheaper to simply pay the ticket than to raise the prices of them by catching fairly expensive free rides once in a while. 😄
Glad you enjoy your visit! Even with all the butter 😂👌

The world needs more automated driverless GOA4 metro systems. They really are the future of urban transit... Especially with headways as short as 60-90 seconds... That's less than most people wait for an elevator!

so very different from NYC subway lol. Copenhagen's is the exact opposite of a chaotic scary filthy dingy NYC's. What a dream to actually be there.

Wow, Copenhagens train system is very impressive. They’ve got us all beat, I’m gonna go ahead & rate that a 9.8 for it being vey modern looking & it being driverless, for the cleanliness & quiet ambiance lol ❗️😃🚊👍🏽

I rode that metro a few times back in 2018. Very quiet, almost eerily so, made me feel like everyone was watching me. It is also though, as you said, very clean. I’m sure with how compact a city Copenhagen is, it serves them well.

Lausanne in Switzerland is the smallest city to have a metro line (it has 2!), and its M2 line is completely automated and climbs up some 300 meters!

Thank you for showing this? It brings good memories and it’s a nice clean country and this is where if you put your baby in a pram and go to the store you can leave the pram if they are sleeping run in run out and baby will be fine. Safe. You usually have to know or meet someone through another person but so safe.

We have these in London and it’s called The DLR (Docklands Light Railway). Operated by computers with a safety person on board to check tickets and open/close doors.

As you were descending on the escalator it looked like where a scene was short in the original movie The Girl with the Dragon tattoo.

These sorts of systems aren't honour systems. They won't check every single time, but the penalty is usually set high enough that over the long term it's so much cheaper to make sure you have tickets, so they aren't losing any money. Say they catch you about once a month on average if you make 20 short trips a month, but you pay twice what a monthly ticket costs.

New York Cities "Circle Line" could be considered as the M, the terminuses on the M are really close to each other.

We need those glass partitions in our New York City subway systems that would prevent a lot of issues
