A massive real estate project at Changyao Mountain on the east bank of Dianchi Lake in Kunming, Yunnan province, China, has turned a previously lush green hillside into a “concrete mountain”. Environmental inspectors said the project, a collection of more than 1,000 villas and flats in a conservation area, has damaged more than 90 per cent of the surface of the mountainside.
