MONEYBALL Film Clip - 'You're Killing This Team'

Based on a true story, Moneyball is a movie for anybody who has ever dreamed of taking on the system. Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland A's and the guy who assembles the team, who has an epiphany: all of baseball's conventional wisdom is wrong. Forced to reinvent his team on a tight budget, Beane will have to outsmart the richer clubs. The onetime jock teams with Ivy League grad Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) in an unlikely partnership, recruiting bargain players that the scouts call flawed, but all of whom have an ability to get on base, score runs, and win games. It's more than baseball, it's a revolution -- one that challenges old school traditions and puts Beane in the crosshairs of those who say he's tearing out the heart and soul of the game. Now in Cinemas

that feeling when the clip you upload doesn't even contain the quote in your title.

The way the camera holds on Hoffman to get his full reaction while Billy delivers news the audience already knows is just perfect. This movie is so artfully constructed.

I miss Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He was undoubtedly one of the finest American actors of all time. Up there with De Niro and Pacino. He just needed a few more classics under his belt to fully reach that glory and immortality, but his acting was "Daniel Day-Lewis/Meryl Streep/young De Niro" level.

To me, this is Philip Seymour Hoffman's greatest display of acting. It is totally different than anything else he is ever done..and he does it like it's second nature.

Power move telling Billy to take a seat, countered by Billy leaving the door open while they talk.

Love how he forced him into having no real option but to play his guy and follow his vision despite his absolute unwillingness to go along with the plan. Coach can't play a guy the team doesn't have!

Art was actually in favor of what they were doing, and Pete was involved a year or two before the streak happened.

The reason this wasn't a box office hit (pun? sorry) is because it was so low-key great. The movie and actors do such a great job with silence here, the manager's reaction to the trade is deeper than him flipping over tables.

I like how the team didn't start winning until after trading Pena away. That was what made it great.

I swear when I first saw this movie, I had no idea that was Phillip Seymour Hoffman. The way he got into his characters was incredible.
