For those who love watching good movies I recommend Moneyball (2011)
Movie Info

Based on a true story, Moneyball is a movie for anybody who has ever dreamed of taking on the system. Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland A's and the guy who assembles the team, who has an epiphany: all of baseball's conventional wisdom is wrong. Forced to reinvent his team on a tight budget, Beane will have to outsmart the richer clubs. The onetime jock teams with Ivy League grad Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) in an unlikely partnership, recruiting bargain players that the scouts call flawed, but all of whom have an ability to get on base, score runs, and win games. It's more than baseball, it's a revolution - one that challenges old school traditions and puts Beane in the crosshairs of those who say he's tearing out the heart and soul of the game.

Powerful scene - throughout the movie he's fighting and raging against the whole world - because at his heart is the sense that he's not "good enough" since his past failures - when he finally has the opportunity to show the whole world that they were all wrong, complete with a huge potential paycheck, his daughter's voice reminds him just in time that he's always been "good enough" for her as her dad. It's hard not to be romantic about baseball.

On the surface, "Moneyball" is about using unconventional statistics to build a baseball team, with a limited budget, that can effectively compete with wealthier champions. But the emotional heart of the movie is a story about a man who has struggled with being labeled a loser most of his adult life. The movie follows him for a year as he tries to transform his team, inadvertently by picking people who turn out to be much like himself: once full of promise but lately down on their luck. The ending (shown here) where Billy listens to a recording of his daughter singing, is where he internally has overcome those defeats. He has a bright and intelligent child who loves him.

This scene makes me bawl....I had to see this movie a couple of times to really appreciate it....Brad Pitt was so good in this movie. All the little suttle things he does. Sure, he's super famous for being handsome, but he really is an amazing actor who takes unconventional roles.

One of the most iconic performances by Brad Pitt in my books. I bawled my eyes out at the ending.
Beany left all the money in the world to be near his daughter.
"How can one not be romantic about Baseball"
Moneyball --brilliant movie

As a “tough” dad of a 9 year old little girl... this song and scene had me fighting back tears. Here’s to all the great Dads out there!

The problem with Billy according to the film is that he can't let it go.
He was a big talent when he joined Oakland but failed to make the big breakthrough.
Until he wins the big trophy, he can't let it go and move on. That's why he rejects the better offer. He beats himself and despite overachieving every year he is disappointed and he can't ''enjoy the show''.

For all the "misfit toys" out there that thought they were too flawed to matter. I always root for the underdog who just needs a break to shine.
Don't give up! Even when nobody seems to care. That's character being built. A foundation of a true champion in my book!

Brat Pitt acting his heart out, combined with the beautiful music, makes for one of the best and most emotional movie endings ever. There's just something in Pitts tear-filled eyes that makes me kind of see myself in the character. Truly touching scene.

"You're such a loser Dad. You're such a loser Dad. Just in enjoy the show."
Clearly teasing her Dad in that way only teenage girls who love their Dad can get away with. This is the best scene.

When she says your such a loser dad it highlights the fact that she doesn't feel that way and never has about her dad....no amount of championships will ever supersede that fact....powerful scene

Love the movie and this song. As a father of three children including a young girl this song hits different now than when I first saw the movie. A lot of what I now see in this song is how the daughters voice reflects that fathers inner voice and insecurities. We all are on the journey and need to learn to "enjoy the show". The term "The Show" is also another term for the big leagues. A lot of layers to this song and emotions, thats why its great. And I am a huge metal head but this has heavy emotion to it; and thats what makes music great.

I didn’t cry for The Lion King, or Forest Gump, and I almost laughed during Titanic… But this.. this scene breaks me down every damn time…

“You know anything about baseball?”

“Well I played some T-ball when I was...”

“Congratulations you’re the new head scout.”

I love how it was his daughter's voice that made him turn around to witness the 20th win in a row. Then at the end of the movie it's her voice again that makes him turn around and not accept the highest gm offer.

By the way I also like how the lyrics "you're such a loser, dad. just enjoy the show" hits home for me. Who doesn't have a Dad who at least once got mad at the outcome of a sports game?
