Don't Make This HUGE Mistake When Buying Golf Balls! when buying golf balls there are certain things that you should think about. What is the best golf ball for you? what is the best golf ball of 2021? the best golf ball for mid handicap golfers? the best golf ball? the longest golf ball? the best feeling golf ball? sometimes when in the shop you can be mislead by marketing claiming that this golf ball is the perfect golf ball for you... when really it may be the worst golf ball for you, and it could well be the most expensive golf ball in the shop, as oppose to the cheapest golf ball? the budget golf ball which may actually be better for your game anyway? let's do it.... and let's do it now!

I was fitted for my driver and the printout gave me ball choices as well. I had been playing Titleist pro v1. And changed to project a from Taylor made. I then went to tour response from Taylor made and what a difference. I love them. Stop consistency enough for me approaching the green. Making my putts shorter and more confident knowing the ball will not run out

Wilson Duo during the winter and the three piece Wilson duo pro in the summer, soft, low compression, forgiving, cheap. With a 135 yard 7 iron and a 195/200 yard drive they are everything I could ask for. I have tried the so called premium balls and at my swing speed there were no discernible positive benefits at all. Other thing to remember, soft inserts on some putters makes a significant difference.

As a 28 handicap colfer I don't worry about ball stats apart from feel from the putter I don't have the skills for backspin or move the ball in the air but putting I get feed back

I game Vice Pro Plus and Pro. Have been losing a few more this time of year with more leaves on the ground this time of year. But agree with going with a ball that gives you an overall performance and feels good around and on the green.

As a higher handicapper I go for balls which are designed to reduce spin, as tee shots can often go right. Those that fit are:

Bridgestone E12
TaylorMade Noodle Long & Straight
Titleist Velocity
Callaway Supersoft

On personal experience based off the 160 or so various balls of various types I found in the woods on one afternoons walk around the course in early spring this year, I found the TM TP5 seems to come hottest off the driver and goes like a missile back whence it came. Also very nice around the green but a bit firmer than some others. Pro-V1, always very nice, again hot off the tee and a nice penetrating trajectory. It also seems to be the most lost ball in golf ;) I didn´t find many Bridgestones but they were great all round and great feel on the green; arguably my favourite. On the more budget end, Callaway Supersoft (of which I have around 50 left) are decent all round balls, as are Srixon AD333 and the other Srixon one, the soft feel. I´ve only actually bought 2 sleeves of Srixons all season, but they´re still in the bag for emergencies. And I have in the past bought Wilson Deep Reds which are surprisingly good for the price, and esp if you lose them often. TBH I don´t have one favourite. So long as it doesn´t feel like a pebble off the putter and wedges, I´m happy. Although there is something that confuses me; why is it that you lose the better quality balls faster than the cheap ones?

lucky to a greenkeeper and find at least 4 or 5 a day... from various so have the chance to do a bit of cack handed ball fitting.... but tend to buy Vice Pro soft or Vice Tour... have bought TP5 pix and found they helped with my

I use the Titleist Tru Feel. I have always liked the feel of a soft golf ball. Titleist produces a consistent and quality product. I can buy a dozen for around $22.

I follow the Chris approach: play whatever I find on the course. Although I am a bit of snob and generally only keep Titleist, Calloway, TM, Srixon and Bridgestone. Haven't bought new balls in a few years and I'm always amazed at how many balls are just in the rough or just in the tree line. Lazy folks save me a lot of money!

This winter I'm using Spalding control (cheep but ok for winter golf) I have been using Pinnacle Rush good price and reasonable all round ball, why because I found a couple one round and tried them one evening after work and all went well

I now use the Srixon Z-Star (when on sale) or the Q-Star Tour (AD333 for you). I chose these based upon feel off the putter, control around the green with chipping, I want a 70 - 90 yd pitch to stop, and control with iron shots. I figured driver would have the least effect on them. 5 yds with the driver won't matter that much unless it means carrying a bunker in which case I should probably lay up to the bunker with a 5W or hybrid

Ok, so this year I switched to the Wilson Smart Core. I used to hit the Callaway Super Soft. I did this for two main reasons. First, I’m a high handicapper so what difference really does it make what ball I use……and second for the price. Here in the US you can get 2 dozen for about $20. On the packaging they claim that the ball will adapt to your swing speed. Take that for what its worth……probably just marketing…it sounds good and all. But I gave them a try and played better with these than I did with the Super Softs.

The ball I played this year was a Callaway Super Soft was very playable and didn't cost that much. Distance was great and putting improved.

I like Vice golf balls and I go with the Drive ones. They’re about $20 (US) for a dozen. I like the brand, the feel, and I don’t feel bad hitting a $5 ball into the water or OB.

I had a ball fitting and switched from a Srixon to a Titleist AVX. No real difference off the tee but around the green it’s made a big difference. Much more stop and control on short irons in and chipping/pitching. Clearly a difference in price too

Marketing idea James what if you could buy a dozen balls with each of the 4 sleeves have a different brand in each sleeve. Like Pro V1, Callaway crome soft, Bridgestone, and Taylor's made. But have them be similar money or ball. The manufacturers could also do this within the same brand with a different style ball in each sleeve. This would let people test multiple balls without spending tons of money.

I've been playing the Maxfli Tour mostly, because I like the feel and spin around the greens. They're $60 for two dozen at Dick's/Golf Galaxy, so the price is right also.

I use the Vice Pro plus, it feels and sounds just like the pro v1x and plays the same at about half the price.

Taylormade tp 5 for me great around the greens and love em off the putter and like the clicky sound off the ball 👌

Vice Pro Plus and/or Snell MTB-X. AWESOME feel, great value, great performance - for me at least - try them if you've got the chance - you don't know what you're missing.
