Trusting Islam is the weirdest dream a human being can ever have.

As an Iranian, this needs to be shown to everyone! Our country used to be a jewel in the Middle East

A regime change in Iran holds a huge chance for substantial peace in the Middle East. Much love to the brave people of Iran and Israel.

The BBC actually issued an apology for giving Khomeini so much positive publicity while he was in exile in France. They clearly haven't learned their lesson

The West really messed up this one, what a huge mistake.

.... And the British administration at that time was... Labour.

What a surprise. 🙄

Out if interest met an Iranian girl in London today. She was one of the lucky ones who made it here. She was forced to wear a burkha. She is now burkha free and enjoying her natural freedom. I doubt she wants to see the UK Islamified and have to go back to square one. Nor do we..🎉

How many times have we done this, get rid of a world leader only to end up with a worse one, rinse and repeat

Iranian people are really intelligent but they are held down by the regime.

As an Indian, Iran is a mystery for me. The best people I meet from Middle East is Iranians. They are often critical thinkers, atheists, secularists, smart. But the country of Iran has a totally different image.

I am 64 years old and grew up through all of these events, but I never joined them up. Thank you for telling me.

The 1970s in Iran, at least among the people in Tehran, was an era of fads. One day, everyone HAD to have Wrangler jeans. The next day, they must have Lee jeans. The third day, they had to have Levis. It was one fad after another. The economy was good, despite some inflation, and there was a great deal of upward mobility. Then, around 1978, suddenly the fad became to be a revolutionary. I remember classmates and even relatives who didn't know their buttholes from a hole in the ground suddenly became political experts. Marching and shouting Allah O Akbar from rooftops while banging on pots and pans became the fad among the youth, and there was a sense of fun about it. People who had never been to a mosque or said a prayer suddenly wanted an Islamic government, saying "Islam will set us free." They did it to themselves. I saw it happen.

Thank you for your insight — my mother was crying, when the Islamists took over and she was not an Iranian but she knew what’s coming, because of the horrible experience of the third Reich — she hated.
