I come from Saudi Arabia and I have been taught the British English 12 years of my life in school then I started working in a company "Aramco" and other smaller companies
where they speak only or mostly American English and my friends mostly from America and I speak daily American English more than I speak Arabic so imagine how confusing it is
for me when for 12 years (from 1996 - 2008) my brain has been wired to think, speak and write in British English then for another 12 years (from 2012 - 2022) I think, speak and write in American English only
sometimes I wish I stayed on the British English or that we learn American English in school it's far better than losing your skills and what you learnt by adapting a whole new rules, words and grammar.

Meter and liter is spelled metre and litre but water is still water and not "watre" in British. Curious, that tire is spelled tyre?? Could it be that tire as a verb means to run out of energy whereas tyre as a noun describes a vehicle's ring-shaped rubber component that is mounted on a rim or wheel???
