What I find odd in this process is the engraving, I thought by now wed be using laser to do that or some sort of automated process. Seems tedious designing on a computer then recreating everything by hand after.

I went on a school camp once and I went to the Mint in Canberra, which is the capital of Australia if you didn’t know, we got guided tours and learnt how money was made, all as primary schoolers
