If you're not sure where to eat in Saint Petersburg, go to Rubinstein street which is the main restaurant street in the city.

The street founded as just the lane in 1740. It used to be named as Troitsky Lane, then Troitskaya Street. And only in 1929 it was named after Anton Rubinstein, Russian composer, pianist and founder of Saint Petersburg Conservatory who used to lived at this street in a building number 38.

Rubinstein street is also known for Leningradsky Rock Club which is back in 80's gave a lot of big rock names to Russia. Enough to say the legendary Kino with Victor Tsoy played their first concerts.

In the residential building at Rubinstein street, 23, back in 60-70's lived Sergey Dovlatov, one of the most popular Russian writers and journalist . Now there is a whole memorial with his full-length sculpture.

VERY clean streets and sidewalks, crazy parking, and many signs in English make this an interesting video. Yes, I did enjoy walking through Rubinstein Street. This is truly a beautiful city. I understand why you moved here.

Broad avenues lined with blocks of gorgeously preserved 18th and 19th century buildings! Delightful neighborhoods bisected by cool and calming canals! Beautiful, expansive public squares framed with monumental palaces, cathedrals and train stations! St. Petersburg is an architecture, urban lovers and historians 'wet dream'!! Here's hoping that Peter the Great's 'window on Europe' lives forever and never loses it's old world charm! Thank's for sharing your incredible city with such love and pride!

Really interesting, as always. I just finished reading a book about the siege of Leningrad (as was then). Could you visit significant places during the siege and maybe the Blockade Museum for us please ? Thanks Sergey, keep the videos coming !

WOW! Thanks for this video! I was lucky to stay at an apartment on this very street in 2016 (directly opposite the house for engineers and writers) and I tried several of the restaurants - all great! Nice memories, and really good to find out more about the place. I’d love you to do a video about the Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines - I spent a really fun afternoon there, would be great to visit again someday!
