A 47-year-old man from North Carolina recently died due to a harrowing miscalculation by his car's GPS system. It led him to what had once been a bridge, making his car fall into a river. To what extent can technology be trusted? Here's what Molly Gambhir has to say.

People should use their senses and brain more than the technology .
However some one lost his life.
My condolences to the family who lost his loved one.

If this Bridge was taken out of service and dismantled ? Then Why was there no Barrier installed afterwards to stop anything like this from happening before someone die’s. It’s only common sense if you going to take a road or bridge or even a sidewalk out of service you block it off until it’s fixed and if it’s permanently out of service like the Bridge then you make it inaccessible. I believe this fall on the municipality not the GPS as far as the GPS knows that road and bridge are in service and the municipality probably did not update the information or the GPS would be updated. The GPS knows about New Roads even before they are open. So what went Wrong Here makes you wonder ???.

More than 50% drives I have observed that GPS showed the wrongest directions possible. It caused wastage of time and fuel.

She scratched the surface with her pinky nail. Transhumanism is here. AI is real. And humans are lazy. So it sets up The Perfect Storm to be replaced by AI and yours truly, The Terminator.

There is good reason why driverless cars are not road legal yet.

Think back to the eighties in America. A guy made the news big time for planting bombs in certain places and blowing them up ( some people were killed in the process unfortunately ). He was dubbed " The Unibomber ". When more information was found on him ( he was eventually caught ) they found that the guy actually had the mind of a GENIOUS with a VERY HIGH IQ and one of the main reasons he was letting off bombs at certain places was the fact he was trying to draw attention to his OPPOSITION TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF TECHNOLOGY. There are also some newly released clips which can be found on Youtube where AI has now actually made threats against humanity ( ? ). One of STEPHEN HAWKINGS last warnings to humanity and society before he died was " BEWARE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ".

This is an instance where you actually look before you turn. And if you can’t see the road ahead, don’t drive on it.

I don't understand how this could happen. Even if you follow the gps, we still look in the front and drive right. Even if u look at the gps for a second, it shouldn't happen rt. Surprising how this could happen.

Technology has Great Potential for helping Humanity provided we use it merely as a Tool... And NOT a replacement tool of humanity itself.

I firmly believe that certain imperfections of technology is undeniably impossible to achieve optimal perfection or to be eliminated entirely. It only take one failure or one technological malfunction to render a catastrophic nightmare. People must use common sense and don't put all their trust in technology.

Can't blame only the technology for this tragic incident. Why didn't the local authorities properly barricade the broken bridge ?? Aren't they equally responsible?? Anyone could fall off this broken bridge any
Of course, one must always trust one's own eyes and intuition rather than relying blindly on any technology.
