I actually really like this change as it makes early hard mode feel less Grindy and feel more skill oriented

Its not Mythril OR Oricalcum, it actually spawns both of them whenever you beat a mech boss and the same for Titanium/Adamantite

Calamity: makes bosses harder
Fargos: makes bosses harder and nerfs items
Calamity: fine. *heavily nerfs progression*

I remember Chippy saying that early hardmode item-wise progression feels a bit rushed, cuz you just fly through the ore stuff right to titanium or adamantite, so I thought it would be cool to have a mod that makes it so when you break the altars all the ores spawn, but you can dig only tier 1 ore, requiring you to defeat Queen Slime to unlock tier 2 ore and any of the mechs for tier 3

Pretty cool to see Calamity do something similar

Step1: get palladium armour.
Step2: beat cryogen in malice mode.
Step3: get spider armour
Step4: get summoner accessories
Step5: congratulations you can ignore these changes entirely.

i like this because you cant just go into duke fishron pre mech with titanium armor (do note its not 1.4) and get overpowered very quickly

The rework is amazing because as with radiums playthrough he used palladium armour and orichaofosfjklkslicum armour during a playthrogh which is very rare to see in any playthrough

I like this change a lot because it makes things you wouldn’t normally use viable, it’s just nice to use cobalt or palladium armor instead of rushing to adamantite

as a summoner i'm barley affected by this change because of spider armour and a new op summon weapon called the eye of night

I disagree with this. At least in higher difficulties. I had issues beating mechs with titanium in Death-Malice. I don’t want to know what it would be like to do it with cobalt

While I do understand the changes, I personally don't like them for the fact I actually *love* early hardmode mining, so the change feels very unnatural for me, plus there is a bunch of other things I don't like not being able to get. Do I think the change is bad? No, not really, however it doesn't really fit well for me personally, although I agree with him when he says it is a little unnecessary (except for not being able to fish the ores from crates, that I understand completely). I might play with it in a different playthrough, however both me and my friend mutually agreed we shouldn't do it, and honestly so far it seems more fun without it, however I may try it another time if I get into another playthrough

I'm doing my first Calamity playthrough, and this was such a curveball.
But for my first modded experience it was really fun to overcome and plan new strategies for bosses I beat endless times before.

I actually like this change because the first thing people probably do when entering hardmode is spending half of their lifetime trying to find ores or go fishing and get Titanium armor/gear and be overprepared for the boss fight.

I'm not sure if I like that Mythril and Orichalcum is blocked behind a Mechanical Boss, but I'm completely fine with Titanium Armor not being available as soon as Hardmode starts, as to be fair it's a bit overpowered for its tier

What I find quite interesting is how this will play out with multiple mods. This doesn't just change calamity progression, but the entire base progression of terraria, which is the progression all other mods are linked to. Being unable to get a hm anvil until after a mech boss might be devestating if you play with other mods that add or remove certain features.
This is however not that big of a deal, due to it being possible to change in the config.

Overall, I think it's an interesting change that adds more content to an otherwise very grindy part

i love this, before it felt like the mechanical bosses were just a wall for progression, now they each feel impactful and actually lets you have a better transition into hardmode instead of there being a race for the best gear possible as soon as you kill wof, it feels like a lot of the weapons that were previously unutilized now will be

you can fish in lava and some specific biomes to get the crates and get orichalcum/adamantite before the mechanical bosses (the normal ocean don't drop hardmode crates)

Meanwhile, summoner and rogue mains, with their titan heart and spider armour: “what new early hardmode progression?”

This change confused me at first, but when you get used to it oh boi, new way to progress? Yes please, i like change in progression cause it won't feel like you're playing the base game and give a nice challenging feel to it.

Currently I'm playing as a summoner and is gonna fight calamitas again, got my butt whoop first time 😅
