Why do I need an account to charge my car . I do not need an account to fill up my gas car in any gas station. Why ?

they should integrate e-bike charging into their chargers. E-bikes are really taking off but right now there are very few places an American cyclist can charge their bike on the road.
About 80% of NYC residence dont drive but many have electric bikes and scooters in spite of them only being made street legal this year.

Do the Chargepoint "spouts" connect with all EVs? Has this aspect been standardized? Also if my battery system is low, how long does a charge take?

Does your mobile device require NFC (Near Field Communications) capability to activate the ChargePoint station? Not all smart phones have this feature.

Is there an advantage to stopping the charge prior to unplugging? Doesn't unplugging automatically stop charging (as well as any fees of the charger?)

They just installed free Chargepoint chargers at work and only one gets used occasionally. Some days I might work out on the road for 15 hours and can't unplug when charging is complete. Are there idle fees on free chargers?
