I do like Vicky's laid back approach and gentle dialogue. She is spectacularly pretty in a very unassuming and understated way. Keep up the the good work.

Interesting to see things are in the U.K, compared to the US, where I am (Austin, Texas, in particular).

One minor difference here is that most EVs (Tesla’s being the only exception I know of) use the slightly-smaller SAE J1772 plug. (The slightly-larger “type-2” plug, common in Europe is capable of two-phase AC charging.)

More significantly though, all chargers here that I’ve ever seen at least, have the cable integrated into them, so you don’t need to carry around and break out, then put away your own cable.

Also, at least where I live, many EV owners have a garage, so we can charge “indoors” at home. That’s certainly not universally true here by any means; quite a few folks live in apartments or condominiums. Then again, many of those apartments are suburban only 1-3 stories high, and a fair percentage have dedicated, assigned parking. The numbers of those that have properly-charged (charged to your bill, that is) is considerably fewer.

So do you have to sit a station for like 30 minutes to wait for it to charge?

Too much fucking work. I wanna just be able to put the gas and leave immediately. Sometimes life happens and you forget to fill your tank so wtf am I gonna do if I realize I need to charge my car but I’m late to an appointment or I’m having an emergency?

Sure, you can lock the cable into place while it charges to keep ppl from stealing, but what if they wanted to cut it ?

The video just glosses over one obvious set of questions. If it's of dubious safety to use an extension cable, how much does it cost to get a dedicated charger point installed at home? Are there any issues that may make it problematic to install this? What if the car can't park close enough to the dedicated charge point for the as-supplied charger cable to reach? Can anyone add a bit more detail please.

Drains so much power from the mains supply that it melts your extension leads.

I thought an electric car was supposed to be simple I would’ve been home by now 🤦🏽‍♂️

This doesn’t address any of the numerous drawbacks of electric charging. If it takes over 30 mins to fully charge a car (and that’s being very generous), what about the inevitable queues at charging points? Journey times are going to massively extended...

ev good in principle but charging will be the issue i still no ppl that will never use internet connectivity and charging vehicles just by there housing configuration will not be able to charge vehicles plus in 2021 the average ev charge time is 8 hrs to viable this needs to be 20 mins or less

You never said how long the charge takes

Does not this charging process expose you to more criminal assault? How is that worth any amount of money? If you have no right to self defense then it is not worth the exposure.

How is this going to work? Planners are allowing 000, 000's of homes to be built without driveways.
