I have a old computer with a VGA and my monitor TV is HDMI.
I bought the VGA to HDMI converter but still says NO SIGNAL
I went to Amazon and put in my cart the VGA to HDMI converter you are using, I am wondering if I need also a new VGA.

I have a new monitor with both HDMI and VGA inputs. But the HDMI input is busted. So I need to connect HDMI from my laptop to the VGA input. Since it is a modern monitor, do you know if I need this active adapter or I can just use an HDMI to VGA cable? I don't know what happens inside the monitor, maybe it has some sort of conversion chip so it could accept a digital signal over the VGA connection.

i have an HDMI to VGA cable, but when i connect it to the monitor, it doesn't receive any signal from the laptop, and the monitor goes into standby mode. Why's that?

EDIT: nevermind just found out this cable is useless since it doesn't convert the signal, but i need a proper adapter. I've been scammed ahaha
