The sub is so often overlooked / ignored. However, it makes such an astonishing difference to the sound. It really transforms your setup. Highly recommended

Thanks from the U.S.A . Just got the Beam 1 brand new from Sonos for 299.99. Bought the new mini sub and already had the pair of ones. Watch your video and set them up. Sound great. Most helpful of all the videos I watched.

I currently have a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and using two IKEA Symfonisk bookshelf speakers with IKEA stand as rear channel. It perfect for small space and also a budget friendly way to add surrounds to your existing Sonos.

I use the Symfonisk bookshelf speakers as the rears and I get great results plus at a much smaller cost.

One of the best videos I’ve seen regarding surrounds. I have the original Sonos Ones just brought and set up the Sonos stands connected to my Sonos Beam gen 2 and the surrounds sound awful they are intermittent and sound crackly when watching TV.. I have tried factory reset.. and they play music from Spotify brilliantly as surround in both Ambient and Full.. but such an annoying intermittent sound with movies and crackly with TV.. no idea how to sort this out..
UPDATE reset my Sky Hub and it’s corrected the issue.. wow what a difference surround makes 😊

Bought the Sonos arc one week ago after having just a 2 channel Samsung soundbar with a sub. I was totally blown away from the sound of the arc. The loudness and clear tone and clear dialog. Anyway, yesterday i bought the Sonos one sl for surround..holy moly how much fun every single movie became to watch. Easy set up and it just sounded amazing. Next up would be a sub. Not sure yet if i should go for the mini or the gen 3, but we will see.(depends on how much bass the neighbors can handle before complaining 🤣)
Nice review from you guys. Learned a few things about the app. 👍🏻

Excellent informative video As a Sonos devotee this set up guide was invaluable especially the rears positioning with a non standard room setup 👍

I picked up a Beam Gen 2 first, loved it. Then I got some 2nd hand Play 1's for rears, amazing. I had to then add that Sub. Picked up a 2nd hand white Gen 2 and just incredible!

Thank you so much or this video! It has helped me a lot. I live in a small apartment and just bought the Sonos Beam + 2x Sonos Ones. That smaller 'apartment set up' helped me visualise the best way to position my speakers. Truly helpful.THANK YOU!

Thank you! Came here for the last part about the surround distance.

I noticed while playing games that character voices would be louder form the surround speakers. Trueplay assumed the distance was more than 10 feet when in reality it was 2 feet.

I recently added the Bookshelf Speakers as surrounds to my In-wall Sonos & Sub Gen 3. A great upgrade indeed!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I just set up my new system (Arc, sub, two Era 100s for surround, plus two more Era 100s for music in other rooms) and I was so disappointed that the two Era 100 surround speakers were essentially useless for playing music. Sonos seems quite thoughtfully designed so I hoped there'd be away to change their volume for listening to music or automatically unpair them for music playback. Voila! You answered my question. :)

I use bookshelf Symfonisks as rears. They are loud enough for me. I've never really missed a bass because of my Arc's capability to produce enough of it. Maybe someday I'll think about it. But, yes, rears before sub.

I use a Sonos Amp with a pair of floor standing speakers as fronts, a wired sub and a pair of Sonos ones as surrounds for a 4.1 setup. It doesn’t seem to be a set up that gets spoken of much but its perfect for me. It has voice control, it’s great for films with the sub for the rumbles and the surrounds but it brilliant for music either stereo for enjoying music or all 4.1 for a loud party mode.

My Sonos ARC came to life with the Gen 3 sub, a total different system. My Beam with the Mini also. The surround will come later 😊

Great video. I'm running the Beam 1 gen with a sub and 2 1s as rear speakers. Mr. Lucas was wrong, if you are blind. :) Sound and dialogue are everything.

Great video! I use the Symfonisk picture frames as my surrounds and love them. I heard it’s equivalent to the Sonos ones

Great vid as always, als love the new studio! Perhaps a suggestion, could you do a vid showing different mounting brackets and cable management options for ones as rears? Seeing both the beam and arc spaces use floor stands it might be good to swap one out to show what other possibilities there are.
