Coronavirus: UK alert level increased amid fear of 50,000 daily infections

Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance and the Chief Medical Officer for England, Professor Chris Whitty, said "the epidemic is doubling roughly every seven days", leading to the Covid alert level moving up to level 4.

And as the number of cases rises so, of course, will the number of deaths.

The latest daily UK figures show that there have been 4,368 new Covid cases, the latest 24-hour death figure is 11, bringing the total official number of deaths from the virus to 41,788.

Thing a can’t get my head around is the telling everyone no more then 6 in a group but yet my daughter is back to school she stands at a bus stop with about 12 other kids then gets on a crowded bus to go to a school that’s also full of kids and adults but yet the still blabbering on about this 6 in a group honestly these idiots in parliament and the government are only interested in one thing ££££££ they certainly are not bothered about the kid’s going to school

Sodexo can barely cook chicken in military cookhouses, no wonder the testing system is failing with them involved! G4S as well, couldnt even provide security for the Olympics. Its a sad state of affairs that the public sector does not have the capacity and that these are the private firms we have to employ.

Start antibody and antigen test which is just 1/10 of what you are spending just £5 per test! They give false negatives up to 10% but give correct positive! This will give fast results and fast identification of positive people rest can be tested with expensive tests!
