Close the Gap: A Decade in Review

Hundreds of thousands of Australians have supported the Close the Gap campaign to put Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander health, life expectancy and wellbeing onto the national agenda.

Since 2008, when the government first set targets to Close the Gap, only three of the seven targets are on track. The Gap has only grown bigger, our work is not yet done.

We need to be the generation that closes the gap.

Complains about Gap in services and employment opportunities in indigenous communities.
Continues to waste tax payer dollars propping-up isolated indigenous communities where there are limited services and employment opportunities.

There is no stolen generation this was a political decision .
Life expectancy was only 40 years before white settlement and is now 72 for men about 78 for women. So because of medical technology the Aboriginal people have gained average 35 years but this can be improved with education to improve health with diet and adequate exercise .I read an artical that showed type 2 diabetes can be cured by a very lean diet in Aboriginals because there diet has changed by the introduction of western food .
