Here’s a fact for you, did you know Louis Vuitton burns any extra products they have, which leads to $40 million in losses? It sounds outrageous but there’s a great reason why they do it.

This process is part of their strategy. The brand doesn’t care about the money lost, instead, the most important factor to them is keeping their reputation up. By burning excess products they make sure that they don’t have to sell their items for cheaper, lowering their value as a luxury brand. 📈

An important benefit of burning the goods is to also reduce the amount of the item in circulation which makes counterfeits harder to make. And if you’re upset, Louis Vuitton isn’t the only brand that does this, every other luxury brand does it too.
