I love how Nat King Cole's "L-O-V-E" is the opening for this film and his daughter Natalie Cole's "This Will Be" is the ending

Such a beautifully shot movie. The cinematography, shots, music, screenplay, actors are amazing. Everything is so neat, delicate and perfectly well balanced. You can tell it was directed by a woman.

My Grandparents went on this beautiful ship (The QE2) in 1987, one year after the story takes place. I have all their souvenirs from their cruise.

The ship is now a floating hotel in Dubai.

The interiors dance and dinner scenes were shot on the Queen Mary, which sailed from the 1930s-1960s and is a floating hotel and museum in Long Beach, California

i was married in 1984. Our wedding, even though not on a cruise ship was just as magical and romantic. I am sad to say we divorced. I got on my face before God and asked him to heal the marriage. Sadly, she died last year. I still believe in love and there will be another wedding day that will be magical in it's own way.
