Since there is a fellow minded individual here. Did you know that Maokai, does not only Counter Darius and his dumba** Q, but ALSO Aatrox and his dumba** Q as well?

Genuinely, you will not have any meaningful interaction in the top lane, but you will NEVER see an Aatrox more frustrated, than the one that is trying to fight a Maokai with a tower.

Also, guess what? You can escape:
- Cho‘gath Q by just warping to a minion;
- Ornn and his cutscene length knock up chain, by just warping to him on the first dash;
- Sion Q becomes a joke and if he tries again with the Q and W you are easily able to make him never be able to charge it;
-Being tower dove by Warwick (or almost anyone really);
-Being chased by Garen, with minions in bushes, push backs and of course the W (quite possibly one of the greatest abilities in League in general)


Also, for advanced Darius hatred, learn Thresh. Thresh Auto and Darius Pull have practically the same range. Play just outside the dudes range and either:

A: Watch this dude bore himself to death for the next 20 minutes that you mentally torture this guy

B: See him get more aggressive and get the guy under the tower, watch him watch your 10 year long cc cutscene, only for him to finally be able to flash out, but still die to the last tower shot that slightly delayed anyway. (The only thing that can mess this up is if you have terrible luck with tower rotation).

So first kill was with a gank which doesn't make Maokai a counter, second kill was Darius losing brain function and tanking tower which ALSO DOESN'T make Maokai a counter.
