I started my own raspberry mead cause of you on the 14 of September! It finished fermenting in 10 days! It’s mostly clear now, about 1-2 more weeks and it’ll be ready to bottle!

you got to be careful with mead, you drank three or four glasses of that in the next thing you know take it easy son

I'm making a raspberry mead with fall gold raspberries I grew myself, and a few blackberries. I'm wondering if I should add more in secondary, I can never tell how the flavors are going to develop by taste. I'm still pretty new to making mead, tho.

Would it have fermented quicker if the berries were mulled? Or would it make no difference? Or is the difference that the Berry material is more whole, and easier to work around when siphoning?

What ABV did you get? I've only used Lalvin 71b, and I tend to get around 11-14% ABV (though I've never done raspberry mead). Have you ever used Lalvin 71b? Is Lalvin K1-v116 better?

Anything happen if you ferment it twice? Like instead of the water you use previously made mead?

Help me out with the physics of siphoning, would it also pick up solids like stuff that is less dense than the water or would solids not be able to travel up the tube?

I made a mixed berry mead with raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. I wanted to add a citrus flavor to it and couldn’t decide between lemon and orange so I bought and zested a couple citrons… do not use citrons for mead. It ruined the entire thing lol. I’ve had it sitting for almost a year and it’s only just starting to not taste horrendous
