Who Framed Roger Rabbit was not really for families. It's a dark, gritty and violent murder mystery where the hero tortures a (mostly) innocence man for information. The film's cartoony antics are there to intentionally create an unsettling tonal dissonance in the movie.

Lolita shouldn't be viewed as controversial; she's a child who is as emotionally precocious as she is socially naive. She's a victim; Humbert is the controversial figure.

They should have mentioned the early Looney Tunes character Bosco. He was such an overt minstrel stereotype that they stopped making cartoons about him because even in the 1930s they thought he was offensive.

These characterd may have been controversial, but they've also become some of the most memorable and iconic characters in history. in fact i for one think it's too bad that we don't get too many characters like these anymore.
