Seinfeld is an ingeniously hilarious show about 4 terrible narcissists who's bad decisions always catch up with them. The show itself actively disavows all of the characters misdeeds. Calling any episode offensive is like saying the Sopranos is offensive because it's about gangsters. Why is it that nobody understands context anymore??

Saying 'pregnant' was controversial, and now we have Family Guy. How times have changed

Fun fact: The Puerto Rican Day episode of Seinfeld is the only one of 180 episodes in which H.E. Pennypacker, Kal Varnsen, and Art Vandelay all appear in the same scene together.

Edith was supposed to be FIFTY!? Maude was supposed FORTY-SEVEN!? What kind of hard knock life was happening in the 70’s!!??

The same way people have the right to get offended about something, creators have the right to portray characters the way they want. Just because a topic is more common to talk about doesn’t mean media has an obligation to use it or talk about it in a sensitive way, specially when it comes to a comedy.

As a HUGE Seinfeld fanatic born in 2000, I knew The Puerto Rican Day episode was gonna be number 1. Besides we have technology so I can see it anywhere online so it's not a loss for me; but I understand how many people felt after it aired on TV.

It you can't laugh at yourself, don't watch sitcoms. Simple. Some of my favourite humour is that aimed precisely at my own culture.

In all fairness, can you imagine the reaction of someone in a Puerto Rican show burned an American flag?

I can’t believe that was considered the most controversial episode of married with children

I Have To Give It To All In The Family This 1970's show was a envelope pushing masterpiece and glad I watched it in Syndication (except Nick at Nite)

Another controversy on that episode of Maude would be that we were supposed to believe she was only 47. She looked at least 20 years older there.

I think puerto ricans anger was justified. If someone burned the American Flag, ALOT of people (not all) would be angry and offended of a desecrations of the there countries flag

We need to regain our sense of humor about ourselves back. I never lost it, but many seem to have. I’m Puerto Rican and I still don’t get the controversy. It’s a COMEDY show….don’t take it so seriously 💁‍♂️

Soap was a masterpiece of television and Susan Harris should be celebrated for her bravery.

Seinfeld's "Who!? Who is not wearing the rrrribbon!?" couple was the most accurate depiction.
That's why these episodes are usually removed from rotation.

I love Seinfeld. I watch it every year, multiple times. The biggest problem with the Parade Episode was that it wasn't really funny. Like, at all. It belongs in the bin alongside Season 1 of the show, something that should be skipped and only looked at if you're a masochist looking for some pain.

Seinfeld had a lot of controversial moments… the cigar store indian, the nazi episode, the bet, the merv griffin episode. that’s what Seinfeld did
