Ender 5 SKR V1.3 & MKS Gen L guide + custom electronics enclosure

My Ender 5 continues its journey to being an enclosed 3D printer for using ABS, Polycarbonate and Nylon. In this video, I create a custom electronics box to house either an SKR V1.3 or MKS Gen L mainboard, and show you how to install both.

This box is designed for my specific purposes, mainly using cool air from outside of the soon to be heated enclosure. It is a lot of printing so if you want a very simple converter mount, this is included in the Thingiverse link too.

The next Ender 5 video will be on the lid and heated build chamber. After that I'll do some testing of the high temperature filaments.

that psu is going to run pretty hot, you may want to leave more room for the fan to breathe so it doesn't fail prematurely

Great video and explanation, but I've noticed few issues:
- From what I seen, PLA printed case will be exposed to inner heat chamber, if it reaches >60C, enclusure will melt and it will be messy. You should isolate it from heat completely.
- I think you should use other type of fans with more static preasure, there are plenty of cheap 40x20 server fans on aliexpress, I suggest using fans with two bearings.

I've switched to using kapton tape instead of electrical tape for covering up electrical wiring - the adhesive on electrical tape becomes a sticky mess over time and stops holding together as much.

This video series is well timed. I was having a discussion with a colleague at work who has an Ender 5 along with myself. We were debating at what point has a printer has been modified so extensively that it is effectively a custom printer and no longer a modified printer.

Looking at your build, do you feel that you have tipped over the point where you no longer have an Ender 5, but rather a custom printer that happens to use the same stepper motors, power supply, and aluminum extrusions as an Ender 5?

I guess I would have opted to keep the board and PSU outside the chamber. And maybe thermal isolation for the case. Also: Won't there be a problem with the heatbreak cooling fan cooling a lot less when the temperature inside is higher? Or is that just a problem with PLA?

PRO version looks very attractive, planning to get my hands on but...
I'm in China and should remain here for some time, surprisingly none of the big re-sellers deliver items into China and after a while looking for THE SHOP in Beijing - cannot find one :-)
Any ideas on this? I know, it may sound ridiculous asking you the question but... you never know :-).

nice design but i would have made a vent over the psu fan as its ment to use fresh air to keep the psu cool.. by pulling hot air into it this can shorten its life.
