I'm so conflicted right now. My wedding events are planned for July 20, 21 & 22. And I'm off to my honeymoon from July 23-August 7. My fiancé and I tried to plan this as per my menstrual cycle but I got mine earlier this month, which changed the projection of my period for next month to July 26-30...which is when I'm supposed to be in Greece. :'( I don't know if I should risk using something like Norethindrone for the first time ever or just stick to my good old pads and painkillers, even if it does compromise our travels & sightseeing. I'm also a virgin so I don't know if this progesterone-only pill effects fertility in the future or what.

"There are side effects to every medication" is both completely untrue for most people and dismissive! Some people -dont- have debilitating side effects to birth control, some do. It is not worth taking birth control over just using a condom if you have to deal with uncomfortable side effects. Stop putting men's convenience above woman's quality of life. I have had many medications that did not give me side effects. You should not take an optional daily medication if it makes your quality of life worse instead of better.

I'm a lesbian and was prescribed birth control for PMS. My doctor didn't want me to stop taking it mid-month. Why the fuck would that matter to me.
