How much JavaScript should you know before learning React?

I’d have guessed the ternary operator was one of the first things people learn. If you just skim through a language spec it should be in the list of operators, right.
In some other languages that one is sometimes frowned upon a bit. Curious to see it as the most particular example in this piece of advice.

You should know a LOT JavaScript before React. React will die but JavaScript won't. This is the reason no one can get jobs. They're just framework devs

And folks remember, the fact that you need to know about ternary operators is to never ever use them

I knew nothing and just did it. Honestly the less you know the better in terms of react because if you know a lot you’ll want to hack the things you can’t do.

React lets you do most of everything you want. I’m working on projects for work and the people before me did not have enough understanding of react and pretty much bullied their way through by using events the whole time.
