It’s to feed their egos... to know he still can get you if he wants to and get rid of you if he wants to and you will still be there. It’s a horrible way to treat someone and it shows how low their self esteem really is if hurting someone gives them pleasure. Notice once he gets you back, he leaves again. Once he feels you moving on or content without him, right back he comes. Been there done that. Moved on and got married to a great guy afterwards. Boy do they hate when you move on. Lol
