@3:01 No. no no. You don’t need to pry with a screwdriver or from that location. Directly underneath the steering wheel, where you put your hand to push down hard... just do that. It’s 2 little plastic tabs with metal tabs on top of them that just pop in. Takes no effort.

So my Jeep won’t turn over I replaced stater battery and alternator, it still won’t start up I swapped horn with starter relay still won’t start, it will start by touching metal into to the relay box like you said and it starts right up but once I turn it off it won’t start back up hope I’m making sense

Thanks for the info. Now, I’ll like to ask your advice on what to do in the following situation: I washed the engine on my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo at the car wash and that created a huge electrical problem for me. I disconnected the negative side of my battery to look for any wet fuses or electrical components and when I connected it back, as soon as I connected the negative side the starter started right up without the key being in the ignition switch and burnt my starter solenoid so I replaced the starter and now as soon as I put the key in the ignition switch ( without turning it on) the starter starts up and I turned the engine on but the starter stays on, it keeps running even after I turn the engine off.
Is it the starter relay that’s staying open and keeps power going to the starter constantly.
Can you please help me sort this out?.
Thank you in advance.

2010 Grand Cherokee, while driving approached a stop sign and it died. Electrical smoke from the hood, tried replacing the EMC, no luck, checked all fuses, relays, tried to find where the smoke came from but can’t see anything that’s burned up. Any guess’s?

Always overlooked is the safety interlock switch on the transmission. When that fails it makes these junk Jeeps not start and it seems like the starter is bad or the relay or the wiring at the starter.

Trying to help my elderly neighbor on his 2005 grand Cherokee. It starts and runs but he has no acc on key switch and no wipers, head lights, door locks, radio, heater. I have checked his battery and fuses and not sure where to go seems simple that his acc isn’t getting power. Thanks
