I've started to use this steaming technique recently, it really breaks it down and disintegrates it. Give it a go:
in a bowl put
- 2 table spoons of sea salt
- a few shakes of cayenne pepper powder
- a bit of eucalyptus essential oil (how ever much you think u can handle)
Then boil water, once boiled pour it into the bowl, stir it and grab a towel put it over your head and breathe in the steam. (Close your eyes as well just incase bc it is pretty strong).
Deep breaths through the nose, and then deep breaths through the mouth for at least 5 minutes or how ever long you want.
2 to 3 times a day works well.
(You can also add apple cider vinegar)
Each of these ingredients help to clear the lungs and kill any bacteria.
Try it for a few days and if you start coughing after or during this that's good, you want to cough up that phlegm that is stuck in the chest.
Cough it up, and try not to swallow the mucus when you feel it going down your throat but spit it out as much as you can so it doesn't carry any bacteria into the chest and cause any sickness.
All the best!

I believe my post nasal drip is due to reflux. I'm interested in learning more about how to heal myself from this.

It's mostly physiological than pathological even though pathological hase invasion. It's mostly imbalance in hormonal system that perhaps happens for lack of water, lack of sleep, poor diet, extraordinary stress, no inner happiness.

No doctor seems to explain it; but I have constant hard formations of phlegm in my throat which won’t swallow. It’s hell like someone has described below, I am not happy any more it’s been 9months. How am I meant to live when all I’m doing is worrying about the unbearable feeling in my throat

All these doctors don’t seem to be able to give a proper diagnostic, therefore proper treatments.
Hundreds of videos about GERD or Postnasal drip say the same and you’ll read the same desperate comments.
ENT on YouTube all make it sound like they know how to treat. They don’t.

The issue of post nasal drip seems to be a complicated one without satisfactory resolution. I have had little help from any so called healthcare professionals. Right now I can feel the buildup of mucous or phlegm at the base of my nose. No resolution through meds. I too am searching for answers but none to be found. You would have thought that modern medicine could at least provide some symptomatic relief. But nothing. It's all rather stupid. My quality of life has gone down the toilet with this.
