I met a guy who worked for Tesla he was an electrical engineer for them . He advised me not to buy a Tesla for that reason they have full control of your car.

Even newer gas powered vehicles can be shut off, tracked, or hacked. Cars are computerized now. Older cars however are good

You can do that with all newer GM vehicles with OnStar also…let’s be transparent about all auto manufacturers

This is not just Tesla; a lot of newer cars have this. Any car or truck with a cellphone connection has the potential to be hacked by someone or shut down by the manufacturer or gov.

GM has been able to do this for 20+ years now. Telematics isn't new, telematics isn't unique to EVs, telematics haven't been used by anyone, anywhere, in this manner.

If your vehicle has a service like Onstar they can do that at will. It's not just EVs that can have that be done to them. They can send a signal to the car that stops the computers calculations for the engine's ignition coils. The engine shuts off immediately.

What freaks me out when snowden said there were 2 brand new models of automobiles use RC capable of murdering KILLING the driver. Same year Toyota recalls include airbag deployment that sends projectiles into drivers heads killing them and there were multiple occurrences involving minor wrecks and nearly all involved drivers were killed. Had to be one of them cars. Snowden was not a traitor btw. Hero is the word

Yeah, that’s about every major tech company that’s integrated into our lives.

I think this is also indicative of a larger issue. If companies can hold control over access of your own products that’s going down 1984 levels of dystopian. I genuinely fear corporations are getting way too powerful for their own good.

The threat to shut off my car …. is the definite first reason to stay away from remote controlled cars like Tesla or likewise. Stay independent 👍.

Years ago there was a used car dealer that placed a device on the cars they sold and if you got behind on payment they could block your car from starting. It was illegal of course.

It's just not tesla's that can do that. Most cars nowadays can be remotely disabled.
