White Stripes / Meters / Childish Gambino / Eagles / covers by Mia Morris / multi-instrumentalist

I’ve said it before but I think Jack White is the real deal. The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, (a band where he plays drums), solo Jack White, the list goes on and on, and pretty much anything he’s a part of always delivers variety and passion. I watched videos where he does country music, hard rock, punk, singer-songwriter and pop music but for me, it always feels genuine. I’ve seen live videos where he is amazing and I’ve also seen a couple where he is pretty bad but I’ve never seen him where I don’t feel something which is what I don’t get from too much of popular music. Yep, I’m a big fan.

Cissy Strut is a classic form the Funk pioneers, Meters and Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover is another true artist IMO. Lastly, Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey wrote a song that is so much a part of music history that it really needs no explanation. I put my own reggae twist on it but it was meant with love and respect for a song that I knew the words to by the time I knew words.

It's fun to be able to do some quick projects of songs I really love or grooves that I think sound cool. I hope you find them entertaining. One other social media I do is Spotify. I’m 15 years old and I want to be a professional musician when I grow up. I try to play lots of instruments but the one that I feel most at home on is a drum set. I would say the only thing that impresses me more than a great musician is a great songwriter so I also spend some of my time trying to learn the magic of songwriting. I thought it would help me keep focused on music if I started a drum series where I learned a new song every couple of weeks. After 5 years, it’s now turned into a larger musical search but my goal hasn’t changed. Hopefully, I will keep doing it, keep loving music and keep getting better.

Just an old country drummer who played his first gig for $ in 7th grade, here, so I believe I have something of an ear and eye for talent, taste, finesse, stage presence and just plain ol' musical ability. Mia, you have it all in spades. You will only be limited by your own priorities and dedication to the craft. So far...I see no limits in your 'work product'. Don't let the lifestyle consume you.


Do allow this wonderful life to influence and guide your dreams and ambitions. Oh...and listen to your parents. They haven't been able to provide you with 'the basics' and great equipment to help you grow by not knowing a thing or two. They appear to be a terrific gift to you, as well. If you remember one thing from this post, speaking as one who lost a brother to the musician's 'lifestyle', don't let the lifestyle consume you.' Remember that and you will have a wonderful, full-filling life.

What I love about you is that you stretch yourself and try all forms of music. I know The Eagles, but the other bands, not so much. So not only do you impress me with your musical skills and talent, but you introduce me to new music and make me appreciate the music I do know and love even more.
I love the Mia logo that I'm assuming you designed. I noticed it tagged on the brick wall, nice touch by the way. I'd love to talk to you about music. It's rare to find someone that's just as passionate about music.
I'd love to see you do a compilation of Elvis Presley songs (assuming you like his music) and shoot the video at Graceland if they'd allow it.
