Jon Favreau Has decided to join in on the destruction of Star Wars. How sad.

Jon Favreau hits a new low (If that's possible) in The Mandalorian season 3 episode 3. The New Republic is now worse than the Empire. Nice Work Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm, and the team behind The Mandalorian. Well done!

You can find me on Twitter and Instagram, but only if you are nice!

Hi All. Here we go again. This week Mando gets booted from his own show! You can find me on Twitter and Instagram. And do the “Like”, “Subscribe” and “Bell” thing so you don’t miss a video. Cheers!

The old EU also had leftover Imperial factions. Which makes sense - do you think the entire Imperial military just disappeared after Endor? The difference between the old EU and Disney, however, is that the old EU showed PROGRESS happening after ROTJ, as the New Republic emerged as a major Galactic power that fought against various Imperial remnant factions. Unlike the Disney canon, which just RESETS the Galaxy back to Empire vs. Rebels, wiping out all prior progress.

TBH, in the old EU the writers had an understanding on how basic politics work and the aftermath wasn't that bright as the end of RotJ showed. There were still imperial fleets, garrisons and governors left throughout the galaxy and several imperial loyalist planets. What followed was an intense period, filled with imperial warlords and with a civil war, where several strong candidates named themselves the heirs of Palpatine. Including the old version of Thrawn.

What the old EU writers actually understood, that the New Republic, what fought against the Imperial Remnant and the Warlords wouldn't be an absolute clown and they wrote them as not always right, but objectively positive.

Mando died the moment it tried to connect to the Sequel Trilogy. This was never going to end well.

It's hilarious how under Disney they made the Galactic Empire into the competent good guys.

All they need is a laugh track on all these episodes and perfection would be achieved.

As soon as I saw the glasses, something was off. Lucas specifically wanted Earthly inventions like rimmed shades/lenses excluded from the entire galaxy. Seeing them onscreen immediately breaks the spell of that "Star Wars magic".

I love the "Star wars is meant for kids" stupid excuse, episode 4 had the burnt corpses Luke's uncle and aunty and dismemberment, ahh the era where parents raised their own children.

You were the chosen one! You were meant to save Star Wars, not leave it in ruins! You were my brother, Favreau!

That whole episode was probably an alegory for how disney treats the star wars fans, the cookies are fan service and the fans are the trusting doctor going right into their trap and at the end you would wish you could get your memory wiped.

I liked how the device at the end had a control where safe settings were only the first 1/8 of a turn and everything after that was torture.

In a writers room far far away,
some rubbish was written.

I’m a normie! I left “the force awakens“ theater with a strange feeling. I couldn’t place it, but it just felt weird. I didn’t have the vocabulary, it just felt off. Then season 8 of GOT opened my eyes to a world of fandom that helped me articulate the frustration. I originally liked season 7 (and the previous seasons) but season 8 was SO awful it set me on a cathartic YouTube path lol. Then I discovered why “the force awakens” bugged me so much! I never spent a dime on Disney Star Wars after TFA and channels like yours helped clarify and vindicated my gut read.

"Remember when..."

Yes. It was called the expanded universe and one of the reasons were mad at disney is because they removed all of it only to cherry pick bits and pieces to give us an inferiour copy.
And yes, the EU included and roughly 15 year war between the new republic and various imperial factions that only ended with the Pallaeon-Gavrisom treaty where the empire retained control of several systems in the outer rim.

You know I keep thinking that I'm not capable of becoming a writer for Star Wars then I remember who the current writers are.

Grand Admiral Thrawn in Heir to the Empire is a good example of how to do an Imperial Warlord correctly. There's enough characterization in the novels for the reader to understand how he's able to maintain a large force and avoid capture by the New Republic. Disney Star Wars seemed like they were trying to do that at the beginning of this show with Moff Gideon, but that's been dropped because it's easier to just have random bad guy show up for a scene.

I'm betting there was an actual plan for season 3. Perhaps a plan that included good stories. I wonder how much was salvaged and how much was scrapped due to somebody deciding that Grogu needed to be put back in the show.

We now live in a world where those once seen as heroes are villains and the villains they fought are just fighting to have their side of things understood

When we were writing in 5th grade, the teacher forced us to use the "show it, dont tell it." method and it made our writing way better.

Somehow Hollywood has forgotten a 5th grade lesson…
