I had the $45 plan and had hotspot working with the straight talk AT&T sim. They killed 2 weeks ago and told me I had to upgrade to
the $55 dollar plan. They also said if I had the AT&T sim it would not work. Funny how it did work for years with the aT&T straight talk sim. I assume that would mean I would need a T-moble straight talk sim. I ended up switching to T-Mobile on their 55+ essential plan for $40 per month and get 50GB of data, unlimited talk/text plus unlimited mobile hotspot. I also get WiFi calling and when outside the Country I get free texting. The $50 dollar plan also adds unlimited data when outside the Country.

They need to stop lied to people and make it the hotspot unlimited because it crazy that people keep buying it and then using it. And then when they use it And the next day it gone they need to do better then that

I've used a hotspot through straight talk for 7 months, they disabled it yesterday, now they refuse to enable it, they claimed they only offer hotspot with 55 dollar plan and always have! I pay 101 for a 2 line ultimate unlimited plan, when I call them they just say no mam we don't offer hotspot never have unless you buy a 55 dollar plan. I'm very aggravated with them and I am ready to drop them!

I already know why hotspot isn't unlimited anymore for straight talk anymore becuase, Verizon knows Walmart sells straight talk phones that had better straight talk hotspot data this is why they cut off the unlimited data hotspots now, so for me now everytime I use all of my 10gb of data, I have to wait every next month for it to refresh, this is how it works now I hope this helps you guys:) (I Own A Samsung J7 Crown from Walmart)

So I did a bring your own phone and it tells me I need a new SIM card to enable it. ONLY the t-mobile card will enable it and from what ive heard the t-Mobil cards are the slowest on straight talk. My AT&T sim is fast and always has reception I dont know if its worth it

@Gone With Jon It cuts out at 10gb, from speeds of 250ish mbps down to like 2.5ish-5-7kbps downloaded a 49gb update for a game, got several texts (like 4) calling the 611 and reset worked like you said back up to those speeds, but had to reset a total of ten times

Hotspot cuts you off completely after ten gigs. Can't figure out how to get more, yet (that's why I'm here, lol).

You mentioned these Samsung phones that have no hotspot capabilities. I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro that I bought @ Walmart back in March 2018 for a little over $50 + tax (this came with $10 worth of talk & text to activate it) and the Straight Talk Unlimited ($55) Plan. I bought 2 additional cycles of $55 Unlimited Plan til I learned the hard way that this thing don't have a Hotspot capability for nothing. Its got Wi-Fi Direct which works great for ROKU with the Smart View feature thats lets me mirror everything to a bigger screen or move files back and forth; none of any of this works if I dont have actual working Wi-Fi which is kinda stupid. NOW, I have no Internet access where Im at now so im forced to use the Samsung J3 because it is on the Verizon Network and thats all we get out here. I got tired of watching everything on a 6 inch screen so I got crafty and started lookin for (maybe....) an app that would put a Hotspot on the phone. I found Pnpa+ and others wouldnt work but i found 1 that did. Its called SecureTether Wifi and its in Google Play Store. I downloaded it to the phone. Then then it prompts the steps to make it work. 1. press the button to turn on tethering service. 2. On other device, connect to WiFi to: Password/Key: 3(Important!). On other device, browse to 192.168.49.1:8800 and follow the directions. So in conclusion, I figured out how to make a Samsung J3 with no hotspot A FREAKIN HOTSPOT, lol. Hope this helps.

I just got off the phone with Straight Talk they said the hotspot only works with the 55 dollars plan.

Reason why I need the hotspot on my phone is because I travel out to the country to do my job so I can use it for my gps on my iPad & use the Internet that way. I know I could use it on my phone but I prefer to use it for my iPad.

Already ran the 10 gb cap twice, called 611 went to options and got them to reset my data! 🤣. Dont know how long this will work but i have been using the hot spot for months now. I have a lg Stylo 3 from a cpl years ago.

It tells me that they couldn’t find an issue with me data and I reset and I didn’t give me hotspot. What do I Do???

I used up my 10gb of monthly data in ten min this month. and in like 2 hours last month.... I asked them last month why it went so quickly...and “they said if you used it constantly”....?
Well this month it was gone it TEN MINUTES?! Is this normal? They are acting like it’s normal...
I bought a new phone and changed plans to get this 10gb Of data...

i have used hotspot on my phones last two years, after 10 mb it just slows down, Look on Ebay thats where i found phone, older ones, This model has hot spot LG Rebel 2 LTE (L58VL) - Straight Talk Android phone, You dont loose your net on your phone wise if get to your limit, videos lol burn alot but you can watch alot! I have even watched twitch it buffers sometimes. You can only hook to ONE device laptop or tablet, you cant share it as learned it slows down where you cant. So limit your videos on youtube and streaming! Thanks for the update.

I have a lil info.. so I bought a LG stlyo 4 n it worked before they released it although we want pose to.. I switched from boost cuz I wanted more hotspot..so anyway one day it stopped working so I actually was trying the root shit and etc etc then I actually ran across your video and it helped it was one about calling and they reset your data but hey how many times are you going to do that.. well I did and it worked I've gotten 3 of these messages saying ive used all my hotspot so anyway as of now it still works just a lil slower at times now but it still works fine for my Netflix..anyway thanks for the video cuz I was seriously bout to go buy a 1300 dollar phone from Verizon just cuz I wanted unlimited hotspot I don't care if it's fast enough for games.. but personally I feel the more we talk about it the more likely of a chance they will eventually fix it.. but I got this phone Oct 11 th so I got my plan right b4 they overed it may be a clutch but I just call when it stops and they reset my data and Bam that's it I don't pay anything witch will make me stay wit straight talk all the way they are great.. I luv my phone.
