What are your thoughts? Do you have any idea why SpaceX needs a hydraulic press?
Please leave your thoughts in the comments. I love reading them!

LOVE that they add the logo to the ship, when things are almost ready! Can you believe we're almost here again? I didn't expect 2 launches in 2023!

I am still impressed that the last star ship was able to cartwheel multiple times.

I always love how in almost every Episode you say "Starship updates". It is literally the line I wait for every Tuesday and Friday.

9:18 the delay with the stacking of booster 12, I think they integrated much more of the flight systems since they are nearing final designs. Much easier to put onto the booster when it is in pieces making it more modular, much easier to just make completed sections and then welding table them together. That way workers don't have to crawl back inside so much.

They have to approve the deluge system? No problem. Have the inspector stand on the center of the Sandwich and turn on the spigot. Then shout: "Any questions?"

What a crazy journey this has been. Watching the progress in real time has been a unique and rewarding process. I can’t believe we are on SN25 and about to make a real attempt at orbit. My son was a newborn when I watched Starhopper fly, and I knew then I wanted to watch the Mars landing with my boy. He is 4.5 now, and we will be snuggled up together to watch SN25 fly. Such a cool thing, I will absolutely be holding his hand and watching together when we reach orbit with Starship, and later when we land on Mars.

Booster 9 + Ship 25 = 925. 925 = Sterling Silver (92.5% pure). The Sterling Silver Starship! Now that's a nice stack.

Hopefully the FAA has a dedicated Starship Team, dealing with the paperwork and inspections necessary before granting approval for the next flight.
Such a team would perhaps accelerate (not muddy the water) things along. That being said (and not wanting to be the wet blanket), end of Sept or Oct could be more realistic time slots for the next launch.
Its good to see SpaceX not sitting on their hands, waiting for FAA approval, and moving ahead with various projects to expand and support the overall Starship assembly, testing, etc.
I like SpaceX's philosophy of - Test; learn from failure. The team is open to - 'Well... that didn't work. How do we fix it; make it better.' That's the way forward. Its a learning philosophy which has so much potential, even in one's own life....

I regularly watch two YouTube channels that discuss SpaceX: WAI and SpaceXcentric. They are very different and I love them both. Kevin at SpaceXcentric gives me the 30, 000 foot view about what's going on and then I can dig into the details at WAI. Kudos to you both!

Finally someone mentioned XRISM/SLIM - kudos, Felix! I avidly follow several space YouTubers, and everyone had been talking about Luna-25 and Chandrayaan-3 over and over without even mentioning that JAXA is also making a run at the moon. I was starting to wonder if any English-speaking YouTubers had even noticed. A nickname for SLIM on Japanese websites is "Moon Sniper" because of the primary objective of a pinpoint landing. An additional point is that the planned landing area will be near Marius Hills Hole, which might be the entrance to a big lava tube. If SLIM lands close enough, maybe the little LEV-2 rover might be able to take a closer look at the hole during its two-hour battery lifetime - that would be an interesting bonus.

Now we're just waiting on the weather. Apparently the H-IIA is especially sensitive to upper-level winds, because the weather on the ground has seemed fine - it is typhoon season, but no tropical storms have been anywhere near Tanegashima in the last week or so. The latest news (yesterday, in Japanese only) is that the weather isn't expected to recover until the "end of the week", which is probably considered Sunday, and that they'll make another announcement then. But tropical storm Kirogi is headed straight for that area with the center of the storm expected to arrive Tuesday morning (it's expected to be relatively weak, but there will still be plenty of wind and rain pushed ahead of it), so the launch probably won't happen until later next week at the earliest. If they miss the window that closes 9/15, I don't know when the next chance will be, since its trajectory depends on gravity assists.

Space-X just installed the Flight Abort System explosives into Booster 9. I strongly doubt they'll be armed until just before the test. Having them installed is a big step towards launch though.
