Unboxing of Goldtop Gibson, this guitar is suuuupppper light, it took a lot of tweaking but I got it to play and sound good. Even though it comes with 9 gauge strings and it felt wierd at first, it took me some time to get use to it. Also the audio is straight from the camcorder, so its not the best. I'll make a better recording in the future.

I have a 93 Studio in Wine Red which I have owned from new. After 23years, I have finally fallen in love with it, but only by rewiring it 50s style, fitting classic 57 & 57+ pups and Russian Caps. Also, the Nashville bridge had sunk in the middle causing a chocking effect on higher fret bends. It used to sound muddy on low notes, and ice pick shrill on high notes through the bridge pickup. I could hear that the guitar sounded great unplugged, but not through an amp. Now I have the Les Paul tone I always wanted. Mine also had everything set high because of a neck set too far back. I have been able to moderate that through fret dressing over the body, and loosening the truss rod to add relief. Many times I have wanted to sell it, but now I can't put I down. They are worth persevering with if you are brave enough to do the setup yourself. I have always setup my own and friends guitars, but was too nervous to work on my prized Gibson. My son wanted me to keep it for him to inherit even though he found it difficult to play. The mods have transformed it.
