Alright, listen up! I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now, but Saddam Hussein over in Iraq has invaded Kuwait, and the US is leading a coalition to get them out. About 35 nations are getting involved, and it doesn’t seem like the Iraqis are going to be able to stand up to what is crashing down on them.

Fun fact the villainous character Liquid Snake from Metal Gear Solid supposedly was a part of the SAS squad hunting scuds before he was captured and tortured by the Iraqis. He eventually escaped and was recruited into the American Foxhound organization before they went rogue thus setting off the events of Metal Gear Solid 1.

Apparently Black Ops 6 features a mission regarding this exact scenario in the Gulf War, and from the SAS perspective. Always interesting to learn the real deal

I saw one of Saddam's SCUDs at the American Heritage Museum in my home state in Hudson, MA. It's a massive cruise missile that was captured by the U.S. military when we invaded Iraq in 2003. It's now on display for all to see.

I feel like Scud hunting missions were mandatory for early 2000's FPS games

"We don't call [the SA80] 'the civil servant' for nothing: Never works and can't be fired." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

3:06 This scene was in fact based on a Scud missile attack on a barracks in Saudi Arabia. It led to the deaths of 28 personnel

my uncle died in desert storm. he was in marines, and was part of the clean up crew after the cease fire. he sent letters home to my older siblings, saying he was coming home after clean up was done. according to mom (his sister) he was driving an empty ammo truck hit a patch of loose sand and lost control. cant remember if he died at scene or at hospital. he died 4 years before i was born, and my middle name is named after him.

The best thing I learned about the original SA80's is that its existance allowed the SAS to use M16's. Nothing against the updated A2 patterns, bur the original A1's: 😱

3:47 like how SAS was born during ww2. In Gulf war, their nature still remains the same. Bunch of chaps in a 4×4, heavily armed and try to locate and destroy their target
