The love for Lonesome Dove has me just about ready to dive back into my cowboy days . . . When I was five, I refused to wear any shoes other than cowboy boots.

Sponsor-free, weekly updates, comprehensive book reviews and awesome interviews with best selling authors... this channel deserves at least half a mill subs 🙌

Hey Mike, I really appreciate this channel. I am 41 and I have never been an avid reader Even though I've always wanted to be. I just lacked the concentration. Your video reviews of the Star Wars EU ignited my passion for reading. Since then I have joined a book club here in Houston and have made reading a priority. Mostly Star Wars content starting with the thrawn trilogy. I watch your videos all the time and I appreciate what you do.

I feel the oldness when thinking back on books.

great video as always. And don't worry about the chair video, I could literary watch you describe a grain of salt for 10 minutes straight and I would still enjoy it. There is just something about you talking that brings me peace :) btw I didn't finish a single book this month. I'm a huge mood reader and I started like 6 different books but couldn't get into them. I finally picked up the Dresden Files book 1 couple of days ago and it seems to be the one to get me out of the reading slump, so thanks for that recommendation some time back too :) sending love from Slovakia

If you want to make videos on a chair or on mugs, do it! I’m here for it. You had such a good reading month. Your videos are one of my favorite ways to unwind. Thanks for not taking sponsors.

I stopped this video half way through to watch your lonesome dove review… then bought the book immediately after and now I’m back. Love the vids and books recommendations

Hey Mike - I always love watching your book reviews, but you're introducing me to a lot of books I haven't read before (which is why I love this channel so much!), so it's often the case that when your review first comes out I need to get around to reading the novel before watching the review. Maybe that's why the reviews don't do as well as they used to? The books just aren't as widely read... yet!
Many thanks for reigniting my love for reading, from the UK - Oliver

tough to pick a favorite between the Ruocchio discussion or the chat with Pierce Brown… though the latter may just win the photo finish. thanks for the great content Mike!

Mike, the Giver sequels, particularly the last one, are definitely worth a read as well

I just picked up Lonesome Dove from a used bookstore and got the deluxe Of Blood and Fire cuz of your enthusiasm—I think they’ll be perfect for me!

It brought a smile to my face to see The Giver on this list. I first read it in middle school and it has stuck with me through adulthood. (Side note: Now, I'm even more interested to read Unsouled).
Glad to hear you plan to continue making book reviews because I still enjoy watching them.
Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for turning me to Red Rising.. I just recently rediscovered my love of reading. I started with tons of Japanese authors; especially noir. And then I went to my library one day and saw Fonda Lee's "Jade city, " and yeah.. blew through that trilogy in 3 weeks. Then I purchased a kindle and saw Red Rising for 2 bucks .. the rest is history, in currently half way done with "Iron Gold".

I read Oathbringer, Rhythm of War, and Dune in May. Favorite book by far was Rhythm of War. It might be my favorite Stormlight Book but The Way of Kings is hard to top for me. Oathbringer was kind of a miss for me. I still like it a lot but it's definitely my least favorite Stormlight book. Dune I picked up after watching the trailer for the movie and I liked it but not enough to read the sequels. Solid month but I plan to read shorter books in June. Two 1200 page books took a lot out of me. Red Rising is the first book of June so you got me Mike, I'm giving it a shot!

Thank you for keeping the channel sponsor-free, Mike though I wonder if it'll stay that way when/if you reach 1 million subs.

I think I may have helped your rogue Talk About Nothing figures - seems every night for the last few weeks, when I woke up my YouTube autoplay had steered me to the one with Philip, Sarah and Allen. Heard it before, but still enjoyable banter. Keep it up!

Death Masks by Jim Butcher was probably my favorite of May
