Cyberpunk 2077: Weapons Explained (Smart vs. Tech vs. Power)

The main weapon types in Cyberpunk 2077 include Smart, Tech, and Power weapons. Smart weapons require a smartlink that you can unlock at a ripperdoc. Tech and Power can be found in the open world but behave differently. Tech can be charged up to release a more powerful shot. Powerful weapons have ricochet rounds that can bounce off surfaces and hit opponents. We also go over melee weapons and more in this video.

Didn't mention the biggest advantage of tech weapons... That a charged shot will for through walls and objects

My favorite tactic is: use ping to locate everyone, then if possible find a nice nook somewhere where no one will get ever find or get to me, and then snipe them through the walls. Cheese, you say? It's a super-legitimate tactic as far as I'm concerned. And it takes time and effort to set it up. I like how ping and tagging make doing recon an interesting challenge, rather than just a passive "hold Eagle Vision button to see enemies" kinda thing.

I'm surprised more games don't let you do stuff like this. Super-trivial feature to implement...some guns ignore walls. As they should and do IRL.

In one trailer is a scene where you can see the ricochet line when using power weapons. Didn't found a way to do it so far. So is it in the game at all?

I wonder if there are also "special" weapons like flamethrower and rocket launchers (believe me, in the tabletop game there are portable models for civilians!)
