Finally someone that explained clearly and didn’t explain 3/4 of the game at the same time but stuck with the description of the video!
Refreshing …

This my first time playing since the update and I was so confused on how the crafting worked and then I wasn't able to craft a higher tier iconic weapon and I was lost. I appreciate it, dog. Really helped

I actually miss the old system where you could simply buy packs of crafting components from vendors, instead of having to upgrade endless amounts of Tier 1 and Tier 2 junk. That's the only thing I miss though, otherwise I'm having an absolute blast with Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.

one minor thing on the quickhacks - although the vendors do seem to sell some of the low level crafting specs, I got all my quickhack crafting specs from doing the breach protocol minigame (the one where you have to pick the codes in the right order). The quality seems to be tied to your cyberdeck level - once I upgraded to a tier 3 deck, I started seeing tier 3 recipes more frequently, same with tier 4 and 5. If you are going hacker build, be sure to upgrade your cyberdeck asap and hack every terminal you see.

Clear guide to the crafting changes in 2.0. Thanks a lot, much appreciated! 😀👍

My issue with crafting is it's pointless outside of iconic weapons and and quick hacks. The later being the exception because quick hacks are insanely expensive at tier 5. They said they changed this stuff so we can keep the weapons we enjoy but if a T5++ shotgun drops I'm using over anything I can craft. Not being able to craft ++ weapons hurts.

Easiest way to get tier 5 components is to buy tier 5 clothing/recycle tier 5 weapons you get while fighting. I don't know when but once you hit a certain level, all clothing vendors will sell tier 5 clothing, buy the pants/hat as they're the cheapest items. Cycle through the clothing merchants, wait 24 hours and do it all again. Going into dog town and stealing cars gives quite a bit of it too if you think the first method is too boring.

Thank you sir! Everything I needed to know. Was afraid to upgrade my weapons until I maxed out in level, glad they changed this!

I needed this video so much. I didn't really understand how weapons worked in regards to level and you explained it really well. I thought all iconics just stayed the same no matter what, I think. Now I understand how to get more powerful in the game. Thank you, thank you.

I was lvl 45 when i tried upgrading a weapon for the first time and i didnt even had enough components for a single one. Even after dismembering a lot of legendaries. From a dmg point speaking i dont feel like i need upgrades at all, i still use the supressed overwatch that only has like 100 base dmg, but with all the headshot multipliers it still oneshots most enemies.

There should be an in-game tutorial about crafting / dismantling mechanics for newbies as this is not intuitive at all. Thank god for Youtube videos!! Like who in his right mind would think that dismantling clothing would give "parts" (for lack of better word) for weapon crafting?

Not having randomized weapon stats is good, and not having to upgrade weapons and armor every level to make them scale is also helpful.
Not being able to buy components adds a degree of difficulty, with my 1.63 level 50 characters, crafting components are their biggest expense.
Iconics are a different story now, and we will be hunting them down (some of us already did), and upgrading cyberware will be something I’m very interested in.

ty for the video! It's a shame that you can't tier-up non-iconics. I really hope they tweak that and let us upgrade everything in the future
I'm running a specific build around the DB-2 Satara (as the only Tech Shotgun in the game) and having to wait for a 5+/5++ drop is going to be rough

Quickhack blueprints and hacks themselves drop a lot from hacking terminals. Second code in the terminal gives components, third code gives a hack or blueprint (+some hack components). There is no real reason to visit hack vendors. Duplicates are also strong source of income. Netrunner enemy NPCs can also drop them.

A few other details... Dropped 'broken' weapons are automatically converted to Tier 1 components...one per weapon. Clothing items give you one component of the same Tier. Disassembled working weapons give you multiple components of the same Tier. You need a lot of components to upgrade both Iconic weapons and cyberware, so start collecting them early and spend them carefully. You can craft lower Tier components higher...usually 5 for 1 higher. Weapons you pick up will often have mods you don't want attached...crafted weapons will always have empty mod slots...so will weapons you buy in shops. Weapon mods can be upgraded 2 for 1 of a higher Tier. Mods can't be removed from weapons, so be careful what you install. It's a waste to install a lower Tier mod on a higher Tier weapon you want to keep...better to leave it unmodded until you find, buy or craft a higher Tier mod IMO. Finally, sometimes it makes more sense to buy higher Tier cyberware than to spend crafting components upgrading. Collecting and upgrading needs to start early and be deployed judiciously to get the most out of it.
