The thing to me is this; if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. $52k dividends received in 2022.

Living off your dividends my uncle started working at Lowe’s in 1970 bought the stock. Lots of it continue to buy the stock as he was employed there he retired 2015 now lives off of the dividends currently has $23 million in his E*TRADE account consistency is the key.

I'm still long on AVGO the 5 year growth is at 108% and the current dividend payout is 3.03%. Once Broadcom buys Vmware late in 2023 the stock will explode upward as AVGO has a strong history of growth after acquiring other companies and trimming the fat.

Also, remember, REIT dividends are taxed as ordinary income, not qualified dividends. I keep all of my REITS and BDC's inside my Roth, so, no tax!!!
