Actually kangals make great family dogs and get along with children! We used to have a pure breed kangal when i was younger and he was like atleast 3 times my height when he stood up!! And also we had lots of coyotes(kinda like coyotes but closer) and stray dogs around the villige and mountains and he would fight em off if they got closer. He also protected me and my family from a wild boar once!!! We were walking along the mountains and forests(our forests and hazelnut trees to check on our harvest) when we came across one and he took it down!!
I would also go swimming on his back on the river... those were nice times!! He died of old age years ago. I miss him dude 😭😭😭

Most people who watch videos like this are just going by the stats. Gray Wolf is bigger, faster, has more bite power, blah blah blah, and Kangal is no match. Turkish Shepherds use Kangals because these dogs are extremely territorial and will protect the flock with their lives. Many herders use two, three or more kangals to protect the flock and even a wolf pack will struggle to fight multiple Kangals. It's not primarily about defeating the wolves, it's about stopping them from doing any harm to the flock. If the dogs hold out long enough, the wolf pack will retreat to no avail. That means for the dogs: mission accomplished.

I could be wrong but I feel that the grey wolf knows when he's been injured to the point where his best interest is to retreat, while the Kangal is all heart and conviction, it will fight until he's dead or his opponent is, as in the case of why the lion is the king of the jungle and not the tiger.

Wolves will chase a herd of Buffalo for days for the right time to attack. They are very precise, intelligent, and they kill on the regular and understand when and how to attack, and they understand that one small mistake means it's over. And their stamina is tenfold that of any domestic dog.

No normal dog will beat a wolf without human intervention. Also take off the collars on the dog wolf easily snap their necks
