My experience with a used couch at $50 turned out a be a bargain than a bust. It was uncomfortable. I was ready to pitch it in fire but decided possibilities. The frame, etc was solid and cloth was clean and in good shape. I had the couch deep cleaned and cushions replaced. It turned out to be a blessing. I have degenerative spine and disc disease since age 29 and other health care issues. The couch turned out to be the most comfortable bed imaginable when the cushions foam rubber were replaced at $127 from Amazon. Best investment possible for couch cushions and decent bed for 1 person.

I'm an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe, so an American citizen, and I moved to Morocco for five years.

It absolutely astounded me how they have a village repair man who goes house to house asking if they need appliances or household items fixed! The tradwives here bring out pressure cookers that need a new handle and lamps requiring a new cord, and the like. The woman here in my house unstuffs old pillows, washes the shell AND stuffing and then restuffs the whole thing! Here I was in America, just throwing out my pillow when it git a bit flat.

They taught me that in Islam, Muslims are instructed to save as much as possible and NEVER waste.

We do this in our apartment buildings In Finland almost all of them have recycling centers where we take our used unwanted things and give them to a room and then neighbours are able to come in with a key and take them.
