Despite whatever happens to current state of Star Wars, we can admit that the first six are George’s storytelling (although 5 is directed by Kershner & 6 by Marquand. RIP to both directors). I’m happy that Francis presented the award to him, & I find it interesting how these two worked with Michael Jackson on Captain EO back in the day.

George is an incredible man, & it shows that even a normal person can do something with hard work, & cooperation, & dedication to the craft. George Lucas is an inspirations when it comes to storytelling, & I’m happy he received the award.

Please... These comments and this video make me laugh, considering just how despised Lucas was just ten years ago, and how many would dance (and kinda did when he sold SW to Disney) on his proverbial grave.

When Lucas made Star Wars, he wanted to be free and let those who work under him implement their own ideas and imagination in a way that would not only work but also inspire more people to follow his path. When he saw Hollywood, he knew they wouldn't understand and that they did the exact opposite of him so he wanted to distance himself from them. Then came Diesney(yes I purposely mispelled this.) who seemed to follow his idea of letting people freely use their imaginations and ideas with how they made their past films and they seemed like a good choice. It wasn't until he sold Star Wars to them that he realized that they were equally bad and worse than Hollywood by slapping a political message to everything they make while twisting and ruining the visions of others had.
