Suzuki DF140 oil cooler delete mod.

Показать описание
This video shows how to easily, and permanently, delete the problematic oil cooler that came from the factory on early model DF140s. The DF115 of the same vintage didn't have a cooler, and later model 140s didn't have one either. This mod uses one OEM part that cost about eight dollars. Say goodbye to oil cooler issues forever. The entire job takes ten minutes.

Did you screw the side with more threads into the block, or short threads into the block ? How did this work out for you ? what did you tighten the stand with to not bugger up the threads ?

Did you screw the side with more threads into the block, or short threads into the block ? Also What keeps the entire Oil Filter and Threaded pipe from unscrewing while under way ? Loctite ?

When these coolers fail besides the other symptoms you mentioned any possibility of it dumping all or almost all of the oil in the engine compartment ? Asking because it was a bad day on the water and I haven’t even torn into to find the problem. Motor ran fine from point to point . Shut if off and started fishing, noticed the sheen on the water then the oil oozing down the side of the motor . Test started it and it fired right up. Shut it off got a tow back to the trailer . Pulled the dipstick at home and it is almost empty . Started researching !!

I couldn’t find the stand at my local Suzuki dealer. I ended up just bypassing the oil cooler with my water line. That was I didn’t have to worry about water getting into the oil

Just ordered 2 of the shorter oil filter stands. I think I caught my oil cooler before it leaked on my starboard engine, plan on deleting them on both

Hi I just modified my DF 140 as I ran the motor on the muffs at home and it dropped all its oil onto the ground, it ended up being the oil cooler housing cracked while sitting in the shed. How is yours going ?, i cant see why they need an oil cooler, it makes no sense .
