The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says "it's a terrible disaster for Afghanistan" and its people, after the Taliban seized control of Kabul and most of the country.

"It represents a colossal, huge, unbelievable failure of strategic policy from the West over the last 20 years," Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

"But, having said that, the biggest failure is for the leadership of Afghanistan".

"They've had 20 years of American help, and money, and they can't hold their own country despite having many more fighters and much more equipment than the Taliban.

"Probably something like this was going to happen, it's astounding that it's happened so quickly."

"Australia always defends freedom", said with a strait face. No Australian is really free at the moment.

I’m in Florida and we are so ashamed and embarrassed but mostly angry at Bidens left wing government. No longer funny seeing this Feeble minded president fumbling through so many mistakes putting everyone in jeopardy.

I wish the west would forget about everyone else’s “democracy” and worry about the state of its own.

"It's always Australia's cause to fight for freedom" as soldiers are imposing curfews and knocking on doors.

I’m an American and I’m not humiliated, I’m infuriated. And how dare you say any soldier who lost their life “died in vain”? They gave their lives to bring hope to the hopeless. The outcome in Afghanistan is tragic and horrifying. However, “Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” I, an American, am grateful to each soldier and each Afghani, who laid down their lives or put their lives at risk to bring hope to their friends.

The Afgan president loaded 3 cars, a helicopter, and a plane with cash by the pallets leaving some on the tarmac that wouldn't fit. Why fight when the president runs with his riches and without saying goodbye?

Everyone should stay in their own bloody country, as every country has their own problems without going abroad. But we all know that wars mean BIG money for those who plan them.
