Honestly, the fall damage seems actually a lot more forgiving than in darksouls. I felt like I took a lot less damage here

The fall damage is so weird in Elden Ring. You can fall pretty far and not take damage but if you just fall 1 foot outside of that range, you'll die immediately. Still 10/10 game.

I found the Longtail Cat Ring, which negates all fall damage except instant death damage. It is completely worthless. There is like a one foot length of distance you can fall, between “zero damage” and “instant death” where you take damage but don’t die.

But if you want to see if a drop will kill you, drop a prism stone down. If it lands safe at the bottom, you’re good. If it shatters, the jump will kill you.
